Street Art Festival Istanbul
The Street Art Festival Istanbul which was launched in September 2010 took place in various parts of Istanbul with the participation of 10 German and 25 Turkish artists. Within the framework of the festival where painting activities are held in different places including the Rodin Café building in Taksim and Nayah, “Expressbrassband from Munich”, an important street band, performed public concerts in Kadıköy, Tünel and Galata. The documentary film “Megunica” by famous street artist Blu was shown at the Kumbaracı 50 theater within the festival. The 2013 Street Art Festival attracted great interest from different circles with its theme of ‘golden age – rising of humanity’. A pasting day was held in 2014 with artists from South Africa, Syria, Greece and Turkey.
Pet05 street projects
Pet05 street projects is a group of different art disciplines which was established in Istanbul in 2005 and performs actions in the field of post graffiti. The group which organized street art performances at 18th Artist Tüyap Art and Book Fair by The Corridor Project and at the “Where is my privacy” exhibition at Casa dell’Arte Gallery, participated in the graphic jazz performance AKR Devrim together with the French formation acrylonumerik. The group also performed at major music festivals such as Rock for Peace, Rock’n Coke, Freshtival and Sun Day Sky and at the Mardin Street Festival, Kadirga and Rumeli Festivals within Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture project and at Pera Museum with “Keep of my paint”.
